Frequently Asked Questions about BlueCoin (BLC)

GENERAL
What is BlueCoin (BLC)?
BlueCoin (BLC) is a decentralized SHA-256 Proof-of-Work cryptocurrency launched in 2026. It allows anyone to mine BLC using a standard computer and earn block rewards. With a fixed supply of 100,000,000 BLC and a halving schedule every 2 years, BlueCoin is designed to be a fair and accessible digital currency.
Who created BlueCoin?
BlueCoin was created by an independent developer based in Greece. The project is fully open source and community-driven. The source code is available on GitHub at github.com/Sildo20-code/bluecoin-miner.
What is the total supply of BLC?
The maximum supply of BlueCoin is 100,000,000 BLC. 9% (9,000,000 BLC) was premined by the founder for development. The remaining 91,000,000 BLC will be distributed to miners over approximately 30 years through block rewards.
What is the block reward?
The current block reward is 50 BLC per block. This reward halves every 2 years (every 105,120 blocks). So after 2 years it becomes 25 BLC, then 12.5 BLC, and so on.
What is halving?
Halving is an event where the block reward is cut in half. BlueCoin halvings occur every 2 years. This creates scarcity over time, similar to Bitcoin's halving mechanism. Early miners earn more BLC per block than later miners.
MINING
How do I mine BlueCoin?
You can mine BLC on any Linux computer. Visit bluecoin.cash/mine.html for step-by-step instructions. You need to install the compiler, download the miner from GitHub, compile it, and run it with your BLC wallet address.
Do I need special hardware to mine?
No! BlueCoin uses SHA-256 Proof-of-Work but is designed to be CPU-mineable. You can mine with any standard Linux computer. No expensive ASIC hardware is required to get started.
What is the mining pool address?
The official BlueCoin mining pool is available at: stratum+tcp://165.245.219.14:3333. Connect your miner to this address to join the pool and share rewards with other miners.
